Martí Franch

Martí Franch holds a degree in Biology from the University of Barcelona and is a natural history illustrator specializing in ornithology and lepidopterology. He has worked at the Institut Català d’Ornitologia (ICO), coordinating projects such as the Atles dels ocells nidificants de Catalunya and the European Breeding Bird Atlas 2 (EBBA2), as well as managing the citizen science platform ornitho.cat. He currently works as a wildlife conservation technician at the Servei de Fauna i Flora of the Government of Catalonia.

Alongside his scientific work, he develops his career as a nature illustrator, producing artwork for atlases, identification guides, interpretive panels, and all kinds of conservation and outreach materials. Although his main specialties are birds and butterflies, he has also worked on other taxonomic groups such as orchids and dragonflies. He works primarily in digital format, while still maintaining traditional techniques.
