We are the publishers of the Handbook of the Birds of the World, the first encyclopaedia that treats and illustrates all the birds on the planet: a unique work that combines scientific rigor, dissemination and artistic beauty.

“The Handbook of the Birds of the World is a work in which many authors have participated, nearly 300, and with the editorial team, illustrators and photographers, more than 1000 people have been involved. The “novelty” of the project is that it represents the first time that a detailed work has been done at a global level for each and every one of the more than 10,000 species of birds known in the world. And, of course, so many species have required many volumes (17), pages (about 13,000), illustrations (more than 20,000 in 1030 plates), photographs (more than 7000) and bibliographical references (more than 100,000).“
